A teddy bear is often one of the very first gifts a baby receives, placed gently in a cot, pram, or bassinet, held close from the very beginning. Over time, that same teddy bear becomes familiar and smells like home.  

Since 2001, we’ve wanted to share something we loved growing up — our own flat bears. We remembered how comforting those bears were, how we carried them between our mum’s homewares shop and our dad’s antique shop. We slept with them every night and never felt too big or too precious to love them properly. That feeling became the foundation of our flat teddy bear. 

Over the past two decades of sharing our love for flat bears, families around the world have shared photos of their well-loved bears. Bears with names. Bears that have been with them from the beginning. Bears that are clearly treasured. It’s always a joy to watch children grow up alongside the same bear they were given at birth.
