By now, you’ve likely selected a theme for your baby’s nursery and chosen one of our sheepskin baby rugs to complement it.
FLATOUTbear Rug is made from 100% Australian sheepskin—a natural material that’s completely safe for newborns. What’s truly unique about our baby rug is its design, shaped like a giant teddy bear inspired by our flat teddy bears. It has a soft, padded back, which is essential for the safety and comfort of your baby.
Our rug is lightweight and can be easily carried around the house or taken on picnic days. It not only provides a cozy and comforting space for babies to explore, learn, and play but also serves as a beautiful accent in any child’s nursery.
Which Colour Would I Choose for My Baby’s Nursery?
LEOPARD – Go bold with a leopard print that fits right in with safari, jungle, nature-inspired, or woodland themes, adding an adventurous touch to your nursery.
LATTE – Choose our latte colour for a flexible, warm palette that’s incredibly versatile, accommodating a wide range of nursery themes. Here are several themes that would pair beautifully: vintage, nordic, boho, scandinavian, and modern-themed nurseries. It’s often considered a practical choice due to its neutral and warm tones, which help conceal minor stains and spills that are inevitable in a nursery setting.
MILK – A white coloured baby rug serves as a versatile base that can complement most nursery themes from light to vibrant themes due to its neutral and clean look.
ROSIE – Embrace whimsy with a light pink rug that pairs sweetly with princess, floral, fairy, and classic-themed nurseries, giving a soft, enchanting vibe to the space.
Caring for Your Sheepskin FLATOUTbear Rug
Keep your FLATOUTbear Rug looking its best with proper care. Follow our guidelines to ensure it stays plush and soft for years, giving your child a comfortable spot for countless memories.
BRUSH – Brushing your rug keeps it soft and maintains its natural fibers. Start brushing from the roots, covering all the fur evenly with a soft-bristled brush, and use light pressure. We recommend using a wire-bristled brush specifically designed for sheepskin or wool. A pet brush can also be used.
SHAKE – Sheepskin, due to the lanolin in the wool, naturally repels dirt and odors. A simple shake and airing but not in direct sunlight can often refresh your sheepskin rug.
SPOT CLEAN – Spot cleaning sheepskin rugs is recommended to prevent damage from water and detergents, which can mat the wool, cause the rug to shrink, and harden the backing. Use sheepskin shampoo with minimal moisture. If necessary, hand-wash severely dirty rugs in cool water with wool shampoo, avoiding heat to prevent shrinking and felting.
Setting up your baby’s nursery is an exciting step in the parenting journey. The process, while enjoyable, should focus on creating a warm, safe, and comforting environment for you and your baby. Enjoy this wonderful phase, as it brings you even closer to welcoming your little one.
